WHAT IS BIBLE ADVENTURE WEEK?
Bible Adventure Week (BAW) is a uniquely different, but yet inherently fundamental and conservative approach to VBS for the 21st century. Our evangelistic mission team literally transformed church auditoriums into a place of adventure and excitement utilizing special effects and scenery.

WHAT IS THE HISTORY OF BIBLE ADVENTURE WEEK?
BAW was first held at Emmanuel Baptist Temple of Hagerstown, Maryland in June of 1992. For the past ten years, Emmanuel has continued using BAW exclusively as its VBS program. Many parents even brought their pre-school children and sat with them in the auditorium for the entire presentation. Bible Adventure Week is geared to capture the attention of any age group!

BAW has been on the road with a teen mission group five times to three different churches in Indiana, Pennsylvania, and New York. The summer of 1997, we officially took out our first evangelistic team under the direction of the Ministry Resource Center to 10 churches.   The summer of '98 we ministered again all summer long and saw over 100 children trust Christ. Close to 550 children have been saved as a direct result of the ministry of BAW.

WHAT IS THE BASIC PROGRAM OF BIBLE ADVENTURE WEEK?
The program of BAW is fast-paced and exciting, featuring live characters from the Bible, puppets, Bible and missionary stories, special video presentations, strong preaching, and much more! Every Bible Adventure Week is completely themed with costumes and sets, and the message centers around a central biblical truth corresponding to the theme. Each night the gospel is clearly presented and an opportunity is given for the children to respond. And what is unique is that the program is done entirely in your church auditorium for an hour and a half by our staff. Although adult participation is needed, the preparation is minimal for the layman in the church.

WHAT MAKES THIS VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL PROGRAM DIFFERENT FROM ANY OTHER?
First, the children are contained in one place for one and a half hours. This may seem like a difficult situation to manage, however, many churches use this technique successfully. All that is needed is a careful plan of supervision and a basic understanding of crowd control.

The greatest benefit of this approach is the continuity of teaching to all levels. In a traditional VBS program, you will always have some teachers who are less than qualified to teach. Though the approach is graded by age levels, some children still miss everything they could learn and in some cases miss the opportunity of receiving Christ because their teacher was ill-prepared. The Bible Adventure Week concept changes that by having only two or three qualified teachers teach everyone. This makes it perfect for small churches or for big churches that just need a break!

Secondly, the approach is a dramatic approach. Most children today are visually oriented. Our desire is to use this basic truth to an advantage. Through fast-paced dramatic program elements such as enthusiastic singing, storytelling, puppets, discovery of live Bible characters, films, and dynamic preaching and techniques of professional costuming, scenery, stage make-up, lighting and special effects, we can effectively keep the children's attention and direct it.
